A highlight of our trip to Washington D.C. was discovering the array of Smithsonian museums in the National Mall. Sitting in the central position is information centre, known as ‘The Castle’. As our hotel room did not come with complimentary breakfast, we chose to dine here each morning. It was the perfect spot for us, providing a satisfying bite to eat whilst planning out our day. An added bonus was free Wifi 🙂
All of the Smithsonian museums have free entry with the option to donate whatever funds you see fit. I like this idea because it embraces the comfort level of each visitor without any pressure.
Without a doubt, my favourite was the National Air & Space Museum. I lost myself here for a whole day! A truly informative, educational and an excellent presentation of all things related to the history flight.
Definitely a ‘Thunderbirds are Go’ moment!
By the end of the day, I made the proclamation to my family, that when I grow up, I want to be an astronaut! Yes, seriously I do!
