Ailsa’s travel theme this week is ‘gloss’. Here’s her link
Anyone who has visited my ‘Who is the Dormouse?‘ page, would have seen this photograph.
The intricate glossy teaspoon has an image of an Australian red kangaroo representing me and where I am in the world. The antique glossy silver teapot sitting on my glossy garden table portrays my family of travellers.
My maternal & paternal ancestors were travellers from various nations around the world, all of whom travelled to Australia and stayed.
The teapot belonged to my grandmother. Her mother was a descendant of the first white settlers of Sydney and her father was a Norwegian who immigrated in 1882.
