My oh my, Wadi Rum is just out of this world!
After spending five days in Wadi Musa & Petra, my husband and I went down to Wadi Rum for 3 days to walk in the footsteps of T. E. Lawrence; aka Lawrence of Arabia.
We had THE very best time and we were simply swept away with the beauty of this amazing desert landscape.
Here’s our guide Sabbah getting me ready for the day. As he began to wrap the keffiyeh around my head, he paused and enquired, “How do you want to look today? Are we going for the ‘keep the sun and sand out’ look or find a Bedouin husband look?” Lol!
After picking my way up the rocks to the top of Lawrence’s Spring, I was awarded with this spectacular view. Those bushes around me are wild mint, so you can imagine the heavenly scented aroma every time I brushed past them!
The remains of Lawrence’s house built on ancient Nabataean ruins.
One awesome big red sand dune! It was hard work scrambling up, but so much fun running back down!
Just chillin’ in the desert!
This photograph was taken at the top of the red sand dune (as featured in Wordless Wednesday 28th Nov, 2016)
My husband doing his best Bolt impersonation!
Being typical tourists and having a bit of fun pretending to hold up Mushroom Rock.
A perfect ending to the day; perched up high, watching the sunset 🙂
Stunning! Did you find the Bedouin husband or just stick with the one you had 😉 ?

Haha! I went for the look to block out the sun and sand after deciding that my current hubby would suffice.
Sabbah, on several occasions, did offer to take me to meet his father. Apparently his first wife is too old and his second wife has gone in the knees! Lol! He is looking for wife number three…

Very cool. In the footsteps of Lawrence – No mercy!!! It must have been a fantastic experience out there.
PS The snow falling on your blog across the desert is kind of surreal. 😉

Yes, indeed it was a fantastic experience. Wadi Rum has moved into my top ten list of world adventures to write home to Mum about!
I was going to turn the snow off and then thought, “Nah, it’s Christmas. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” 🙂 🙂 🙂
