Ailsa’s theme this week is ‘tangle’. Here’s her link
I took this photograph at the ancient temple of Ta Prohm, Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Here tangled roots intertwine themselves above and through the temple stones.
For Lara Croft fans, this is the film location for some of the scenes in the ‘Tomb Raider’ movie.
Excuse me asking, but have you ever read Don McCormack’s “Killing Fields, Living Fields” – it’s a tough read, but well worth the effort.

No, I haven’t read it. I visited the Killing Fields whilst in Phnom Penh and was absolutely horrified at the atrocities that occurred there. I was very deeply saddened. I also visited S21 and again found it very confronting. As I was leaving the S21 prison, I saw a survivor set up at a table out the front. He was willing to talk to those visiting, but I couldn’t do it. He had books on his table; possibly the one you mention was amongst them. I slowly turned away with tears in my eyes. I walked away and pondered for a long, long time how on earth this could have been allowed to happen. I have a special place in my heart for Cambodia and its beautiful, gentle people…

One day I would like to visit, but the author suggests the “gentle” nature isn’t always what it seems. It would appear there were some pretty sinister beliefs amongst many there, hopefully all (or most) of that has been expunged.
